After the DIPLOMATS cut their first funk record and last DIPLOMATS recording, "SHE'S THE ONE" (released on ten12's Soul Line imprint - SLN 001), the band morphed into SKULL SNAPS, the legendary crown jewel of funky New York in the early-to mid-1970s and a defining force in Hip Hop beats that still lingers today.
In 1973, the SKULL SNAPS (Sam Culley, Erv Waters, and George Bragg) cut a legendary album containing "It's a New Day" --one of the most sampled joints in history, close behind the likes of James Brown's Funky Drummer" and The Honey Drippers' "Impeach the President."
